On the 9th, I made a ten hour drive from the Grand Tetons to Estes Park, Colorado and the Rocky Mountain National Park.
During the drive just past Laramie, Wyoming, I spotted this moose running through a pasture getting the horses excited!
On the 7th, I travelled back to the Grand Tetons from Yellowstone.
On the 8th, Peter and I explored the park again and took a three mile hike before coming back to the Gros Ventre Campground where Kim prepared a meal of chicken and corn on the cob. Kim offered me a Moosehead Lite Beer. And I asked for a second.
I don’t even like beer. But, this one I will look for when I return to San Antonio.
Woke up to moose in the campground.
Went with my photography friends to take pictures of Old Faithful in the dark.
Got some images of the Elk in Madison River on our way.
Took the traditional shot of Old Faithful geyser in the daylight first, then waited about 90 minutes to paint the geyser with light in the dark.
That’s the Yellowstone Lodge behind me in the self-portrait.
Since a thunderstorm was developing to the north of us, I was fortunate to get some lighting images.
I also took advantage of the stars in the night sky to capture the Big Dipper!
Went to the Grizzly-Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Montana with my photography friends on the 29th.
That’s my friend, Peter taking pictures of the bears.
Kim appeared to be taking more pictures of the Ravens than the Bears. Lol!
The center is a wonderful place for people to view these animals up close.
They also have some birds.
Love seeing the wolves.
That’s Sam, the largest brown bear at the exhibit.
He came from the Kodiak, Alaska.
